Advanced Venipuncture Training Aid - 365
  Your patients don't have one size of veins, so why teach and learn venipuncture on a one size fits all IV arm? This model allows you to improve competency and technique when starting IVs by progressing from the easier, larger veins to the more difficult, smaller veins. Features four barely discernable blue veins in three different sizes and a fourth vein deeply placed in a semi-transparent, tissue-like material. Lightweight, compact, quick and easy to set-up and store.

Venipuncture Training Aids 352/354
   Permits the realistic practice of venipuncture techniques including the mechanics of the new no stick IV catheters. Both models display blue veins, which are barely discernable through a semi-transparent, tissue-like material. A pop is felt as the needle enters the vein. The two-vein Venipuncture Training Aid, 352, has two different sized veins positioned at the same depth. The four-vein Venipuncture Training Aid, 354, has three different sized veins and one deeply placed vein. An alternative to the more costly and heavier IV arms.

Nita Newborn - 800
   An anatomically correct model of a 4 lb., 16 newborn female baby developed to review the principles, skills and tools necessary for insertion, assessment, dressing care, securement and maintenance of vascular access devices (VAD) in infants including standard venipuncture, central venous catheter, peripherally inserted central catheter (PICC) and umbilical catheter. Vein size and wall thickness were selected to provide the most realistic feel and appearance of a new born.

Seymour Butts - 900
   The most comprehensive wound care model of its kind. All four stages of pressure ulcers (bedsores) are displayed some with the additional complications of undermining, tunneling, sinus tract, slough, infection and exposed bone. Also displayed are an unstageable eschar, a sutured incision, herpes, anal fistula and candidiasis. Model permits health care professionals to review the principles, skills and tools necessary for wound cleansing, classification, staging, assessment and dressing.

Peter PICC Line - 600
   The only available teaching model which allows review of the principles and tools necessary to validate the knowledge and skills needed for Peripherally Inserted Central Catheter (PICC) insertion. The rapid acceptance and use of PICCs creates the need to ensure that the competency of all staff members is demonstrated, assessed, maintained and improved continually. This model enables staff to practice sterile technique in the set-up and insertion of the PICC line as well as confirming proper placement.

Injectable Training Arms - 698/958/995
   Teach venipuncture and injection techniques including starting IVs and introducing catheters. The skin actually rolls as you palpate the vein and the characteristic pop can be felt as the needle penetrates the vein. Veins are accessible at the antecubital fossa, along the forearm and at the back of the hand, making it possible to practice venipuncture at any of the common sites. Available in both adult and pediatric models.

Arin Apron - 220
   A unisex model of a chest, worn in an apron fashion, for the practicing of pre or post-op patient self-care with central venous catheters (CVC). The model has two pre-positioned real CVCs, one on the right side and one on the left side of the apron. The catheters? distal ends are attached to a simulated blood reservoir bag to permit realistic fluid infusion or withdrawal. Patients can practice on this model without the fear of making mistakes or having to deal with negative body image.

   The purchase of training models is a significant investment. Realizing this, VATA is proud to offer a refurbishing service, to new condition, for a "tired" and well used Chester Chest. The cost is about half the cost of a new Chester Chest.
